This may be one of my favorite projects ever. In my type and letterform class, I made a logo for a festival. The festival I was assigned was the Savannah Irish Festival. The theme was taken after the book of Kells. This was all done by hand and vectorized on Illustrator. I may just have to go to Savannah, Georgia and see what this
Irish festival is all about.
Here are some of the many things and people that have influenced me in my art that I do. If I could meet you all, I would love t personally thank you for inspiring me. No order at all except that I would like to start it out with family first, then friends, then this list in no order:
Walt Disney, Hokusai, George Lucas, Nigo and A Bathing Ape, Pharrell and Ice Cream/BBC, Marc Ecko, Nike and Michael Jordan, Gundam, Zelda, Mario and Nintendo, the Power Rangers Godzilla, Michael Schwab, Uncle Jeff Petersen, Bruce Hale, Michael Schwab, Ferrari, Marvel Comics, Frank Miller, Don and Ryan Clark, Sanrio, Linkin Park, HIM, Speed Racer
This project was a hybrid of photoshop and illustrator elements The paper flying is added and tweaked to give the effect like it is falling. The illustration is of a stylized Anubis I made. I have always thought that the Egyptian culture is magical and
mysterious like no other place. That’s why I gave it a darker but a great level of contrasting colors. The Anubis was made to look Egyptian but have a cartoonish feel that I make.
In my type and letterform class, I was to make the first letter of my name in many different ways. The first letter of my name is a K. That letter happens to be the greatest letter to touch the planet earth.
About each from left to right:
1. The giraffe pattern one represents cutout. The letter has parts taken
away from it.
2. NYC is representing an addition of an image.
3. This was a free choice of mine. It is trying an 80’s crazy theme.
4. The rings represent repetition.
5. Everyone should know what that looks kind of like! This was
making an image have the feel of 3 dimensions.
I realized that everything that I have shown is computer finished. So here is a part of an illustration that I drew by hand. Just so everyone knows, almost all my pieces and concepts finished and computer made began with drawings and sketches. It is important to sketch out ideas before making them. so DRAW ON!
